Landscape Award

Proceeds from various works which were awaiting sale have been donated to the Society of Scottish Artists, who decided to use the money to fund an award for Landscape painting. The award winners are selected from paintings on display at the SSA annual exhibition

2024

The 126th SSA exhibition was held at the Royal Scottish Academy in November-December. . This year the oil painting "Running before the Storm - force 8" by Janette Kerr (above) was selected for the Landscape award. Sea paintings, particularly around Shetland, are a favorite subject. 2023

The SSA annual exhibition at The Maclaurin Art Gallery, Ayr

The 2023 award was made to Olivia Irvine for "The French House" -

painted in a style somewhat reminiscent of Kathleen's later works.

“Rocky Shore, Ardnamurchan” was exhibited (and sold) by the SSA in connection with the award - a first for the artist. Three further works remain to be sold, all at the Torrance Gallery
